Parliamentary Deputies from MRF-NEW BEGINNING will submit to parliament a draft proposal to set up an Interim Commission to establish the facts and circumstances related to the activities of George Soros and Alexander Soros and their foundations which have been financing Bulgarian individuals and legal entities, as well as non-governmental organisations. The commission will also establish their connections with political parties, magistrates, educational institutions, media, business structures and state authorities. The proposal bears the signatures of Delyan Peevski, the chairman of the Parliamentary Cuacus of the MRF-NEW BEGINNING and all the Members of the Parliament from the parliamentary group.
The motives of those submitting the proposal are connected with studying the network of individuals and structures which have existed since 1990, built around Soros' main foundation, the Open Society Institute.
According to those submitting the proposal, over the past decades, such persons, in addition to the non-governmental sector, have gradually been introduced into the administration, educational institutions, political parties, the judiciary, the media and business. This has created conditions for a hidden or obvious influence on the main socio-political and economic processes in the country.
The motives also state that this network of individuals and structures creates a threat to the rule of law in the country, since such actions, if funded and coordinated by George Soros and Alexander Soros and their foundations, are entirely in the private interest. In this way, the basic principles of democracy have been compromised and the foundations of the state undermined. Since the control of the power structures, the political and social system in the country, to the service of one man, in practice leads to nothing other than a dictatorship.
The parliamentary caucus of the MRF-NEW BEGINNING insists that after the parliamentary committee has completed its work, adequate measures be taken to eliminate this influence and eliminate the opportunities for such interference directed against Bulgaria's national interests and people's security.
